Monica Liley Skok

Monica Liley Skok is a Managing Director at BDT & MSD Partners, where she leads the Mountain West region including the execution of investment and advisory assignments. Monica has more than 25 years of investment and commercial banking, and family office experience. Prior to joining BDT & MSD, Monica was a Managing Director and head of the Mountain West Region at JPMorgan Chase where she and her team delivered the firm’s global capabilities to clients including investment banking, credit and financing, treasury and payment services, and international banking. Previously, Monica was CEO of a single-family office for an ultra-high net worth family where she executed the family’s financial and operational goals through comprehensive investment and asset preservation strategies, financial management, strategic philanthropy, and legacy planning. Monica was also an investment banker at Green Manning & Bunch, a Partner at St. Charles Capital and founder of Rootstock Solutions, a pioneer in impact investing. Monica began her career with the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. and as an Analyst with J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. in New York City.

Monica has put her strategic finance background to work providing board leadership to many nonprofit and philanthropic organizations including: the Colorado Forum (Member), the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce (Member), the Downtown Denver Partnership (Member), CiviCO (Advisory Board), the International Women’s Forum (Member), the Colorado Education Initiative (Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer), the Telluride Venture Accelerator (Mentor), the Colorado Health Foundation (Philanthropy, Investment and Finance Committees), the Children’s Museum of Denver (Treasurer), Face It Together (Advisory Board), the Women’s Foundation of Colorado (Finance Committee), the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver (Advisory Board), and the Level One Society of the Denver Health Foundation (Co-Founder). Monica was recognized as a 2022 Woman of Distinction by the Girls Scouts of Colorado, was selected to participate in the 2006 Leadership Denver program of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and was recognized as one of Denver’s “Forty Under 40” by the Denver Business Journal.

Monica received a BA in Asian Studies and Chinese from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
