Colorado Concern gets results that keep our economy going
For over 35 years, Colorado Concern has unwavered in its commitment and support of policies that foster a vibrant, sustainable, and fair economic growth for the Centennial State. By focusing our advocacy in key issue areas as an organization, Colorado's business climate prospers.
FOCUS AREAS
At the Capitol
Colorado Concern champions bi-partisan pro-business legislation that improves economic certainty and reduces barriers to growth. Our team works with legislators to identify opportunities, develop bill language, and pass meaningful reform. We also defend against anti-business and anti-growth measures.
RECENT SUCCESSES
Secured a bipartisan deal to provide property tax relief to Colorado taxpayers of approximately $19.5 Billion dollars
Passed $5.3 billion transportation package – the largest bill to fund roads and bridges in the state’s history
Reformed occupational licensing, allowing for professionals and military spouses back to work.
At the Ballot Box
This consortium of leaders has led several successful statewide and local ballot campaigns. The board regularly supports or opposes ballot measures through thought-leadership, coalition engagement, educational events, and significant financial investments.
RECENT SUCCESSES
Secured passage of the Raise the Bar initiative which requires 55% of voters’ approval to amend the Colorado Constitution
Secured passage of an initiative which depoliticized legislative redistricting
Secured passage of an initiative that allowed unaffiliated voters to engage in political primaries
Secured passage of a measure that repealed the Gallagher Amendment, an outdated property tax rate formula, bringing property tax relief to Coloradans
In the Community
Colorado Concern is also committed to the City and County of Denver. We work alongside the mayor, members of City Council and coalitions to influence outcomes on local ordinances and ballot efforts. Our Political Action Committee supports pro-business candidates running for the state legislature, the Denver Mayor’s office, or Denver City Council.
